All right it is now NBA playoff time. So I figured I'd make predictions about how round 1 will go, and probably work from there. (Just some disclaimers. One, I haven't watched nearly as much NBA this season as past seasons, so I honestly don't know what's going on as much. Two, I'm watching Bleach, so... not completely into this.) I think I'll give 2 predictions. The first being what I believe the most likely to happen, the second the other side of the equation.
East:
Chicago vs Indiana: First of all, did anyone predict the Bulls as the east top seed? OK anyways I think Chicago sweeps this, just because Indiana isn't really that good. The best they have is Granger, and I just think he's more of a #2 or #3 man on a good team. The only other option I can see is Indiana taking 1 game, then losing the rest.
Miami vs Philidelphia: The big three vs the team with a nice turnaround. Sorry, but this ain't gonna be pretty for the 76ers. Miami sweep. Not going to bother with another prediction.
Boston vs New York: As a side note, thank you Danny Ainge. I FREAKING LOVE PERKINS FOR THE THUNDER! THANK YOU!!!!! Well, I think this series could be interesting. The Boston core of 4 vs the new super duo Melo and STAT. This one will be good as long as New York doesn't fall completely flat on defense (we all know this could very easily happen). I'd either take Boston 4-3 or New York 4-2.
Orlando vs Atlanta: Do we really have to watch this series again? Yes I know the Magic look different from the past 2 years, and the season series seems to suggest the Hawks have changed. But I thought the same thing happened last year (minus the season series stuff). Magic win, either 4-1 or 4-2.
West:
San Antonio vs Memphis: Uhh... I don't even know if Ginobili and Gay are playing in this series. So... there's really no way for me to accurately predict anything. But I'll say that if Giniobili plays San Antonio wins for sure, even if Gay does play. If not, I say 6-7 game series, but I can't say which way.
LA vs New Orleans: I don't care how good Chris Paul is (you know... one of the best damn PGs in this league). This is the Lakers. The only story here will be how long the Lakers take. BTW, if they lose, a guy like me who likes interesting news will actually be pleased just because of that. But Lakers win this series in 4 or 5. That's what I'm going to lean to.
Dallas vs Portland: Dallas has been a funny ass team this year. Good for one stretch, bad for one, good, then bad again. Except for some reason when they're bad they're just unbelievably bad. I mean... their coach calls out all of the players? Really? And you know, Portland has been amazing. Aldridge has finally stepped it up, they got CRASH, and Roy is an effing bench player (that's right, that Roy... minus the knees). I call either Portland in 6 or Dallas in 7.
Oklahoma City vs Denver: OKC in 6. OKC in 7. I don't care how good Denver has become, you really think they're going to stop Durant and Westbrook? It took Artest, Gasol, Bynum, Odom, and Kobe to stop those guys. Exactly who on Denver can play enough defense to stop those 2? I thought so.
